HOUSEKEEPING: A great deal has been published, discussed and debated with respect to housekeeping services in the lodging industry in the age of COVID-19. Protecting guests and those in our housekeeping department is given our highest priority. We have implemented the best practices provided by industry specialists, local and state tourism agencies, regional & state health departments and discussions we held with others in the local lodging industry. The processes of cleaning the rental will give special attention to sanitizing commonly touched surfaces including door knobs, drawer pulls, light switches, oven/refrigerator pulls and buttons/knobs, remote controls, sink/tub/shower faucets, commode handles, etc.
NO CONTACT CHECK-IN: Check-in procedures have always been no contact with Lake Erie Vacation Rentals, Inc. It works like this. A few days prior to your arrival you will receive an e-mail with directions to our rental office (located inside the OurGuest Inn & Suites – Downtown Port Clinton). Just prior to stepping onto the front porch of this hotel you’ll find a cluster of 24 lockboxes. The arrival e-mail will assign you a lockbox with information on how to access your rental packet with keys, maps, parking/pool passes etc.
NO CONTACT CHECK-OUT: For those of you accustomed to checking-out with the hotel front desk – BE ADVISED THIS PROCESS HAS CHANGED. At check-out you will again return to the OurGuest Inn. However, as you step onto the front porch DO NOT ENTER THE HOTEL LOBBY. The hotel is restricting access to their lobby to a limited number of hotel guests only at any given time. To drop off rental issued items please use the other door accessible from the hotel’s front porch. This will place you in the foyer just outside the Lake Erie Vacation Rentals, Inc. office. You’ll find a box on the floor to deposit your rental supplies. NOTE: due to the incredibly small space within our rental office, we are restricting access to this space to employees only during the life of the social distancing decree.
